University of Wah hosted its 10th Convocation on Friday, 23rd December, 2022 at UW Auditorium to commemorate the exceptional achievements of its graduates. Chancellor of the University could not attend the ceremony due to his last-minute pressing commitments. Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi, Vice Chancellor, University of Wah presided over the Convocation 2022 as nominee of the Chancellor. A large number of dignitaries, educationists, community representatives, faculty members, graduating students and their parents attended the Ceremony. The Vice Chancellor-UW, in his address, stated that graduates are the ambassadors of the University, with the ability to inspire change and a beacon of hope for the future graduates. He, furthermore, apprised the audience about the milestones achieved by the University including Academic Excellence Award, THE Impact Rankings, 2022, UI GreenMetric Rankings 2022, award of research grants as well as UW’s steady progress towards becoming a research-intensive institution. He emphasized that the students must be empowered with the skills necessary to become a global-minded citizen with the ability to play a constructive role in development of our motherland. He also stressed on the youth to equip themselves with requisite competencies to face future challenges efficiently.
During the Ceremony, thirty-one high achievers were awarded Gold Medals, Distinguished Students’ Award in their respective Faculties and Student of the Year Award while a total of 1145 Undergraduate and Graduate students were conferred degrees in the disciplines of Basic Sciences, Computer Science, Engineering, Management Sciences and Social Sciences & Humanities.
