University of Wah (UW) hosted its 6th Multi-Disciplinary Student Research International Conference (MDSRIC) from 30 November to 01 December, 2021 jointly sponsored by Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and Pakistan Science Foundation. The key areas of the conference included Basic Sciences, Computer Science, Engineering Sciences and Social Sciences & Humanities. The Conference was attended by a galaxy of renowned national and international speakers including literary delegates from universities across Pakistan. Prof Dr Shahid Mahmood Baig, Chairman, Pakistan Science Foundation, Islamabad graced the opening ceremony as chief guest. During the two days of the Conference, 72 papers along with an array of keynote speeches from eminent professors and academicians were presented. The representative speakers included Dr Muhammad Ashraf ,Chairman, Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources – PCRWR, Islamabad; Prof Dr Razia Sultana, Vice Chancellor, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University, Peshawar; Prof Dr Aslam Syed , Bonn, Germany; Prof Dr Alan Fryar, University of Kentucky, USA; Prof Dr Ansar Parvez, Former Chairman, Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission, Islamabad; Dr Mohsin Hafeez, Country Head, International Water Management Institute (IWMI), Lahore; Prof Dr Muneeb – Ur – Rahman, Chairman, Department of Physics, Islamia College, Peshawar and Dr Khalid Amin Khan, Exploration Manager, Oil and Gas Company Limited, Islamabad. Prof Dr Jameel-Un Nabi, Vice Chancellor, University of Wah, in his introductory speech, stressed on proactively engaging in research activities for sustainable development in modern world. In his opening remarks, Prof Dr Zulfiqar Ahmad, Director, ORIC- UW highlighted the significance of academic conferences and shed light on how MDSRIC has acted as a platform where academicians and researchers from renowned universities can meet; exchange ideas on their research and can enlighten the participants about future developments in their disciplines. The Conference was well-received by researchers and attendees who appreciated UW and ORIC for organizing an informative and insightful event.
