University of Wah successfully organized a Two-Week Short-Term Training Program for Faculty and Staff under the CPEC Consortium of Universities from 6 - 17 October 2025, featuring the theme “CPEC and Ecosystem Restoration,” which focused on the long-term sustainability of CPEC and ecological restoration.
The closing ceremony was conducted on 17 October 2025 and commenced with a comprehensive overview of the two-week training program presented by Dr. Asma Arif, Chief Organizer of the Training Program. In her address, she emphasized that this collaboration represents the beginning of a continued academic and research partnership between the University of Wah and Chinese institutions. Distinguished Chinese scholars - Dr. Cao Zhihong (University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing), Dr. Rao Rao Su (Guangzhou University), and Dr. Han Likun (Fudan University, Shanghai) - shared their reflections on their stay in Pakistan. They expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality extended to them and optimism for continued cooperation in the field of higher education and research.
The ceremony was graced by Dr. Safdar Ali Shah, Director General CPEC, Higher Education Commission (HEC), as the Chief Guest. He commended the University of Wah for successfully organizing a national-level event that required extensive coordination, academic excellence, and commitment. In a symbolic gesture of goodwill, Dr. Safdar translated the National Anthem of China, inspiring the audience with a message of unity, peace, and mutual understanding. All resource persons reiterated the enduring spirit of the “Iron Brotherhood” between China and Pakistan and emphasized the importance of academic collaboration in strengthening bilateral relations. The Vice Chancellor was present on the occasion and thanked the resource persons and the Chief Guest. The ceremony concluded with the presentation of souvenirs to the international guests in recognition of their valuable contributions to the success of the training program.
