Faculty of Basic Sciences, University of Wah, in collaboration with University of Wah Science Society (UWSS), organized Career Quest 2025, a major career development event aimed at helping students transition from academia to the professional world. Held on 27 May 2025, the event brought together industry leaders, academic institutions, and potential employers, creating a dynamic platform for networking and career exploration.
A total of 31 representatives from industry and academia participated, with 20 prominent employers conducting on-site interviews. Key participants included Pakistan Ordnance Factory Wah, Wah Industries Limited (WIL), Wah Nobel Pvt. Ltd., Medley Pharmaceuticals, Federal Board of Revenue, Bank Alfalah, Solaris Life Sciences Ltd., and Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, along with several renowned schools and colleges from the region. In total, 651 interviews were conducted, targeting 218 final-year (8 th semester) BS students for job placements and 174 sixth- semester students for internship opportunities. The event yielded highly encouraging outcomes, with 48 students securing job offers and 61 students selected for internships across a range of organizations.
The event was graced by Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi, Vice Chancellor, University of Wah; Prof. Dr. Uzma Ghazanfar, Dean, Faculty of Basic Sciences and Patron-in-Chief of UWSS; Prof. Dr. Amjad Hassan, Director ORIC; departmental Chairpersons; and faculty members. As a gesture of appreciation, commemorative shields were presented to participating organizations by the Vice Chancellor and the Dean. Career Quest 2025 concluded with a group photo, capturing the spirit of collaboration between academia and industry. The event not only empowered students with valuable real-world exposure but also strengthened the University's partnerships with leading organizations, paving the way for future academic-industrial synergy.
