University of Wah’s Computer Science Department participated and outshone in the three-day national conference titled “Uses of AI in Medical”, held at Wah Medical College from 11-13 April 2025. The event served as a vibrant platform for collaboration among academicians, industry professionals, and students, all gathered to explore the evolving applications of Artificial Intelligence in the medical field. The department made a remarkable impression through active engagement across various segments of the conference.
The AI Museum was a highlight of the event, showcasing projects by students from the Computer Science Department that integrated AI in healthcare. Notably, the project “ThinkSync,” won first place for its innovative approach to mental health care, while “ARIA,” secured third place with AI-powered virtual fitness solutions. Additionally, the department earned third place in the Presentation Competition with a presentation by Dr. Mumtaz, Dr. Shahid, and Mr. Mansoor Iqbal on AI-based medical diagnostics. Their contributions were well- received, emphasizing the department’s leadership in this field. Dr. Wazir Zada Khan, Dean, Faculty of Computer Science, delivered a keynote address titled “AI Made Simple for Doctors,” aimed at making complex AI technologies accessible to the medical profession.
Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi, Vice Chancellor, University of Wah, was invited as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the conference, who awarded prizes and certificates to the winners. The university’s participation in the conference was highly successful, showcasing its achievements in project innovation and academic leadership, reflecting a strong commitment to excellence and societal impact through technology.
