Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC)-UW organized a “Research Project Preparation and Management” workshop on 25 February 2025, to enhance faculty in research project development and management skills. Before the workshop, Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi, Vice Chancellor, University of Wah, met with Dr. Muhammad Israr Khan, Principal Scientific Officer, Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF), Islamabad and Prof. Amjad Hassan, Director-ORIC to discuss faculty development. Vice-Chancellor thanked Dr. Israr and PSF for their support in fostering research excellence at UW.
The workshop covered research proposal writing, including idea development, literature review, project selection, team formation, stakeholder analysis, and planning techniques. Participants analyzed strong and weak proposals based on PSF’s experience. Renowned scientist Prof. Dr. Wajid Ullah, Department of Pulp & Paper Engineering, College of Light Industry and Food Engineering, Nanjing Forestry University, Nanjing, China enriched the sessions with his expertise. Faculty members actively engaged in discussions and exercises, enhancing their research management skills. Vice Chancellor, UW appreciated Dr. Israr’s contributions, and Director ORIC, Prof. Amjad, thanked participants, expressing optimism about the workshop’s impact on UW’s research culture.
