Prof. Dr. Naeem Tariq Narejo, Vice Chancellor, University of Baltistan (UoB), and Dr. Shafqat Hussain, Director ORIC-UoB, paid an official visit to University of Wah (UW) on 10 January 2025. The guests were warmly received by UW’s leadership team, including Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi, Vice Chancellor; Prof. Dr. Uzma Ghazanfar, Dean, Basic Sciences; Prof. Dr. Adnan Tariq, Dean, Engineering; Prof. Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad, Dean, Social Sciences & Humanities; Prof. Dr. Khurram Shehzad, Dean of Management Sciences; and Prof. Dr. Amjad Hassan, Acting Director, ORIC. The visit included an introduction to UW’s academic programs and strengths and a detailed presentation by Prof. Dr. Amjad Hassan, Director, ORIC, on UW’s history, infrastructure, and achievements. Prof. Dr. Narejo highlighted the challenges faced by the University of Baltistan during its early stages of development, including faculty recruitment, and sought assistance from the University of Wah while also discussing UoB's upcoming transition to a newly built campus in March 2025.
During the discussion, both Vice Chancellors exchanged ideas on potential areas for collaboration, including internships for UoB students at UW, a faculty exchange program, and the possibility of summer and winter exchange programs for students and faculty. Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi assured full support of UW in areas where mutually beneficial cooperation could be established. The visit concluded with a tour of distinguished guests to the UW campus and its labs, where Prof. Dr. Narejo showed interest in ongoing research projects. The delegation was then seen off by UW’s leadership, marking the beginning of a promising partnership between UW and UoB.
