National Accreditation Council for Teacher Education (NACTE) conducted an evaluation visit to the Education Department, University of Wah, on 23 and 24 December 2024, for the accreditation of PhD program. The team included Dr. Khisro Kaleem Raza, Team Leader from Sarhad University of Science & Information Technology, Dr. Aroona Hashmi from the Institute of Education and Research (IER), University of the Punjab, Lahore, and Prof. Dr. Shamsa Aziz, Secretary of NACTE.
The formal proceedings commenced on 23 December 2024 with an introductory meeting between the NACTE team and Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un-Nabi, Vice Chancellor, University of Wah. During the visit, Prof. Dr. Shamsa Aziz addressed students, faculty, and university representatives, providing an overview of the accreditation process and emphasizing the significance of maintaining academic excellence. Prof. Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences-UW, provided comprehensive details to the evaluation team. The university’s faculty and staff prepared extensively, organizing presentations and updating documentation. Over the course of the two-day assessment, the NACTE officials conducted detailed classroom observations, reviewed departmental reports, visited the library and computer labs, and engaged in interactive discussions with students and faculty members. These activities provided the evaluation team with a holistic understanding of the program’s strengths and areas for improvement.
In their closing remarks, the NACTE team commended University of Wah for its well-structured infrastructure, highly qualified faculty, and commitment to quality education. While acknowledging the program’s strengths, team also offered constructive recommendations for further improvement. In the end, Dr. Jan, Chairperson, Department of Education-UW, presented souvenirs to the distinguished guests as a token of appreciation.
