Performing Arts and Entertainment Society (PAES) and the Literary and Debating Society (LDS), under the guidance of Directorate of Student Affairs (DSA), University of Wah, successfully hosted Tamseel-e-Dastaan 2024, a national-level drama competition, marking the first-ever event of its kind at the university on 24 December 2024. Mr. Khanzada Asfandyar Khattak, a Sufi dance teacher, choreographer, and human rights activist who enthralled the audience with his dance, was the chief guest of the event.
The event showcased exceptional theatrical talent from across Pakistan, with participation from Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad; Bahria University, Islamabad; Government College University, Faisalabad; and University of Wah, all performing on the theme of tragic comedy. The evening also featured a live Rubab performance, a vocal showcase, and a band performance, enriching the cultural experience. The event was attended by over 1,000 individuals and celebrated the creativity and spirit of the arts. The winner of Tamseel-e-Dastaan 2024 was GCU Faisalabad, with awards presented across 15 categories recognizing creativity and excellence. The event was judged by Mr. Saad Kayani, President of Team Revenant, and Dr. Jameel Sheikh, Chairperson, Sociology Department. The event was generously sponsored by Fauji Cement Company Limited (FCCL), and heartfelt thanks to Mr. Humayun Khalil Jarral and Mr. Ali Arbaab from FCCL for their invaluable support. During the closing ceremony, awards and shields were distributed by Dr. Bilal (DSA), Ms. Shehla Nazmeen, DDSA-UW, and Mr. Waqas Javed, DDSA-WEC. This event celebrated culture, creativity, and collaboration, leaving a lasting impact.
