University of Wah (UW) and the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) reaffirmed their commitment to collaboration by renewing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 11 December 2024. By working together, both organizations aim to foster impactful and sustainable collaborations that drive innovation, enhance employability, and contribute to national development while emphasizing their shared vision of enhancing industry-academia linkages to promote mutual progress and innovation.
The renewed MoU focuses on several strategic areas of collaboration, including:
> Exchange of educational resources and materials to facilitate the sharing of academic and professional knowledge to enhance learning outcomes
> Joint research projects in business-related disciplines to address industry-specific challenges and contribute to economic development
> Organization of conferences, seminars, workshops, job fairs, and other activities to foster professional growth and networking opportunities
> Provision of customized solutions to address the needs of the business community and support its growth
The MoU signing ceremony was held at the Chamber House of RCCI. Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi, Vice Chancellor, University of Wah, and Mr. Usman Shaukat, President of RCCI, signed the agreement on behalf of their respective institutions. On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Nabi highlighted the importance of industry-academia linkages in creating a knowledge-driven economy. He expressed his gratitude to RCCI for their continued support and collaboration. Mr. Usman Shaukat also reiterated RCCI's commitment to nurturing young talent and fostering innovation through partnerships with academic institutions like the University of Wah.
The President of RCCI emphasized the potential for collaboration across multiple sectors, including placements and internships. He further expressed his interest in seeing the University of Wah extend its services to international linkages, especially the African and diplomatic missions and countries associated with the RCCI. The Vice Chancellor of UW assured us of his full commitment to fulfilling all mutual objectives outlined in the MoU. Prof. Dr. Amjad Hassan, Director ORIC-UW also attended the ceremony. Additionally, Mr. Khalid Farooq Qazi, Sr. Vice President, Mr. Fahad Barlas, Vice President, and other renowned businessmen pledged their active participation in future events and activities organized by the University of Wah. The renewed MoU marks a significant step forward in the ongoing partnership between UW and RCCI, paving the way for new opportunities and stronger synergies between the academic and business communities.
